8" Speaker Tile Bridge with Square Opening - Case of 10 Tile Bridges

This tile bridge distributes the weight of an 8 inch speaker assembly to the ceiling support system in a suspended 2'x 2' or 2'x 4' tile ceiling. A tile-bridge is often required by local building codes for safety reasons, as well as to reduce the potential of having unsightly sags in ceiling tile due to undistributed weight. This tile bridge can be used with or without a backbox, depending on local building codes and the style and weight of the speaker assembly.

• Unique Twist 'n Lock feature provides hardware-free mounting to speed installation. It includes 4 formed tabs that align with 4 punched cutouts in the lip of noted Lowell backboxes (series 8XD4 and XCP8). To install, place backbox on tile bridge, align cutouts with tabs on T-bridge, push down and twist to lock in position. Backboxes with Twist 'n Lock cutouts can also be mounted to the tile bridge in standard fashion (with screws).
• Note: the tile bridge does not include hardware. Mounting bolts are typically included with Lowell speaker assemblies and grilles. To mount a speaker enclosure to tile bridge, four 8-32 bolts will be required.
